I am a professor of pediatrics, neurology and biomedical engineering at the University of Missouri in Columbia. Previously, I was Division Chief at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. My primary focus is drug resistant epilepsy and genetics. My NIH funded research lab uses systems neurogenetics and computational neuroscience tools to understand the role of genetic modifiers in DEE. I am also a strong diversity advocate having personally experienced discrimination at UNC CH following disclosure of my medical condition. I am an unwavering mentor to junior faculty and students.
